The world’s unbeaten boxer Floyd Mayweather and his opponent Robert Guerero made weight on Friday for the Saturday showdown for the World Boxing Council (WBC) welterweight title.

The controversial Mayweather will return to the ring after a year’s absence that included his two-months jail terms successfully weighed at 146 pounds while Guerero weighed on the limit of 147 pounds.

Mayweather had an unbeaten record of 43-0 with 26 knockouts and he is raring to execute his game plan. The WBC title-holder went to jail last June for domestic violence and after his release he has been working to regain the fitness needed to defend his place atop the list of boxing’s biggest moneymakers.

Meanwhile his opponent, fellow American Guerrero, 31-1 with 18 knockouts and a 15-fight win streak dating to 2005, insisted again that he would hand Mayweather the first defeat of his career.

Stephen Curry of the Warriors scored with 22 points and added with eight assist to lead his team into the next round with an impressive performance from team mate Andrew Bogut who broke out with his best performance after an injury-saddled season.

Andrew Bogut contributed significantly in the Warriors victory over the Nuggets by making his season-bests and career-playoff highs of 14 points and 21 rebounds while rookie Draymond Green added with a career-high 16 points and 10 rebounds to power the Golden State Warriors into the second round for the first time in six years.

Andre Iguodala scored 24 points and Ty Lawson had 17 in another disappointed early exit for Denver, which has lost in the first round nine of the past 10 seasons. The Nuggets won 23 of their final 26 regular season games to earn the Western Conference’s third seed, then lost four of six to the hot-shooting Warriors.
