Smart Gilas vs. Iran Semis FIBA Asia Cup 2012 Preview

The Smart Gilas Pilipinas have already made it to the semi-finals and one win away of securing their slot for the 2013 FIBA Asia Championship to be held in Lebaon. They will face today the mighty and undefeated Iran in the FIBA Asia Cup in Japan.

The Iranians, the only undefeated team in the tournament promised to avenged its 77-75 lost to Smart Gilas during their last meeting at the 34th Jones Cup in Taiwan contrary to their recent showings wherein they were undefeated after they easily dispatched the lowly Uzbekistan Team during their yesterday’s game.

Iran have successfully defeated Qatar, India, Chinese Taipei and Japan to enter the quarterfinals in a high note with only Japan challenged the powerhouse team from Western Asia.
