Smart Gilas Defeated Macau for Third Straight Win in FIBA Asia Cup 2012

The Philippine National Basketball Team, Smart Gilas Pilipinas easily demolished the Chinese Macau team on their fourth game with the final score at 98-46 and made an outstanding display of their basketball prowess.

Smart Gilas won their third-straight games in the FIBA Asia Cup 2012 and used their last game in the elimination round to rest they their key players and allowed the rest of the team to shine.

Recent developments in the current standing of the team have put the Lebanese on the top after they defeated the mighty Chinese squad, if they can beat Uzbekistan they will topped the Group A, putting Smart Gilas in the number 2 spot.

Jeff Chan who topped their last match against Uzbekistan, also shine as he made another fabulous performance pouring out 18 points in just 15 minutes of actin. Chan shot four of seven from the three-point territory.

The most important revelations of the match was the balanced scoring of the Filipinos wherein four players have scored in double figures. The team was led by seldom-used Fil-Am Matt Ganuelas Rosser who scored with 11 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists. Jay-R Reyes scored with 12 points and 9 boards.

The Philippines will either faced Qatar or Chinese Taipei from Group A. The Philippines will be either be at the number 1 or number 2 in Group depending upon the outcome of the game between Lebanon and Uzbekistan.
