Meghan Vogel High School Runner Helping Arden McMath Video
Meghan Vogel became an instant hit on the internet after a photo and video of her carrying an opponent runner during theĀ Division III 3200-metre finals in Columbus, Ohio. Instead of finishing the race she carried her opponent in one of the most amazing display of sportsmanship and acts of kindness.
The 17-year-oldĀ junior at West Liberty Salem High School in western Ohio, was being praised for her sportsmanship, and has had to deal with an overwhelming response to the now-famous photograph.
With around 30 metres away from the finish line, Meghan Vogel helped her fellow runner named Arden McMath from Arlington High School instead of zippings past Arden, she decided to drape the runner’s arm around her shoulders, half-dragging and half-carrying until the finish line.
Meghan Vogel finished last in the competition but she was first to the hearts of thousands of people praising her after the incident.
