Nonito Donaire’s Next Fight vs. Jeffrey Mathebula in a Unification Bout
Top Rank Promotions have already set a fight for Nonito “The Filipino Flash” Donaire this coming July 7, 2012 against the current IBF Super Bantamweight Champion Jeffrey Mathebula from South Africa. The unification bout between two of the greatest Bantamweight champions nowadays were expected to hit big in pay-per-view.
Jeffre “Mongoose” Mathebula was considered by boxing enthusiasts that he has a huge advantage over the Filipino champion for his height, Mathebula stands at 5 foot and 10 inches while Donaire stands at 5 foot and 7 inches.
The WBO Super Bantamweight Champion Donaire has an impressive records of 28-1 with 18 KO’s while Mathebula’s records currently stands at 26-2-2, 14 KO’s.
The unification bout between the two boxers is considered as one of the highly-anticipated match-up this coming July. A win by Donaire could further solidify his position as one of the toughest pound-for-pound boxers in the world. Only two Filipino boxers are currently listed at the Top 10 list of pound-for-pound boxers.
The July 7 match-up will be held at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California.
