Didier Drogba’s Representatives Denied Striker’s Exit with Chelsea
Contrary to previous reports by prominent news media organization about the exit of Didier Drogba from the Champions League title-holder Chelsea his representatives denied the issue.
As reported earlier the unlikely hero of the Champions League Final match against Bayern Munich who was rumored to transfer to China for the next season. The rumors started during an interview with France Football magazine wherein he was quoted as saying that “We will not be together next season,” Drogba stated.
One of the prospective club that was interested with Didier Drogba’s service was the Chinese Football team, Shanghai Shenhuan, where his former Chelsea
team-mate Nicolas Anelka is now a player-coach.
The Ivory Coast international striker was credited for much-needed point during the UEFA Champions League Finals against the German side Bayern Munich when he scored the equalizer which put both team in penalty shoot-out and the penalty that he successfully converted was the deciding factor of Chelsea’s victory of the 2012 EUFA Champions League.
The future of Didier were unclear ever since the start of the Finals after some sources revealed that whatever heroics he can do during the Championship will not affects his eventual exit with the Blues.
According to the latest development from Chelsea management, the Chief Executive Officer of Chelsea Ron Gourlay also insisted that there has been no decision on Didier Drogba’s future with the club.
The 34-year-old Didier Drogba joined the Chelsea Football Club from Marseille last 2004 and he has scored more than 150 goals for the club in eight season. He was considered as one Chelsea’s backbone.
